ในปัจจุบันการค้า การเงิน และการลงทุนได้มีการขยายตัวไปยังประเทศต่างๆ ทั่วโลก โดยที่ประเทศไทยนั้นได้ทำการเปิดการค้าเสรีกับประเทศต่างๆเพิ่มมากขึ้น โดยผ่านทางระบบการเงินระหว่างประเทศใช้อัตราแลกเปลี่ยนเป็นสื่อกลางเชื่อมโยงราคาสินค้าและบริการระหว่างประเทศที่เป็นเงินต่างสกุลกันให้มีมูลค่าเทียบเท่าเมื่อแสดงเป็นเงินสกุลเดียวกับค่าเงินในประเทศ โดยที่อัตราแลกเปลี่ยนมีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างประเทศ วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยทางเศรษฐกิจและการเงินที่มีผลกระทบต่ออัตราแลกเปลี่ยน ซึ่งวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลรายเดือน 60 เดือน จากปี พ.ศ.2554-2558 เป็นเวลา 5 ปี ผลการศึกษาพบว่าปัจจัยทางเศรษฐกิจและการเงินที่มีผลกระทบต่ออัตราแลกเปลี่ยน คือ ผลิตภัณฑ์มวลรวมในประเทศ อัตราดอกเบี้ยนโยบาย
