สารทเดือนสิบ หรือที่ชาวนครศรีธรรมราชเรียกกันว่าประเพณีทำบุญเดือนสิบ เป็นประเพณีทำบุญกลางเดือน
สิบ เป็นประเพณีทำบุญกลางเดือนสิบเพื่อเพื่อนำเครื่องอุปโภคและเครื่องบริโภคทั้งขนมสำคัญห้าอย่างไปถวาย

ประเพณีสารทเดือนสิบวิวัฒนาการมาจากประเพณีเปตพลีของพราหมณ์ ซึ่งลูกหลานจัดขึ้นเพื่อทำบุญอุทิศ

เดือนสิบมีมาตั้งแต่พุทธกาล คาดว่าพระพุทธศาสนาเผยแผ่เข้ามาในนครศรีธรรมราช จึงรับประเพณีนี้มาด้วย

การหมฺรับมักจะจัดเฉพาะครอบครัวหรือจัดรวมกันในหมู่ญาติ และจัดเป็นกลุ่ม ภาชนะที่ใช้จัดหมฺรับใช้
