About the reason for the higher thermal conductivity of the
composites with modified graphite than unmodified graphite, the
possible explanation is that the graphite has good dispersion in
rubber when coated with polyacrylate. This can build a bridge
for phonon transport in the matrix; therefore, the thermal conductivity
of modified graphite filled rubber compounds is larger than
that of unmodified graphite filled rubber compounds. In addition,
different modification formulas resulted in different dispersions
of graphite in rubber, and thus the thermal conductivity of 1#–8#
is different. The thermal conductivity increase in the modified
graphite will be beneficial for the dissipation of the thermal energy
in tires
