ล่าสุด มีตัวเลขชาวบ้านที่มาขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นลูกหาบกับทางอุทยานแห่งชาติภูกระดึง 363 คน เพิ่มขึ้นจากปีที่แล้ว 17 คน เนื่องจากปีนี้จ.เลย โดยเฉพาะอุทยานแห่งชาติภูกระดึง มีอากาศค่อนข้างหนาวเย็นมากกว่าทุกปี และหนาวเย็นติดต่อกันนานกว่าปีก่อนๆ จึงมีนักท่องเที่ยวเดินทางมาท่องเที่ยวพักผ่อนบนยอดภูกระดึงจำนวนมาก
