วัดภูมินทร์ อยู่ใกล้พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติน่านเป็นวัดที่มีลักษณะแปลกกว่าวัดอื่น ๆ คือ โบสถ์และวิหาร สร้างเป็นอาคารหลังเดียวกัน ประตูไม้ทั่งสี่ทิศ แกะสลักลวดลายงดงามโดยฝีมือช่างเมืองน่าน นอกจากนี้ฝาผนังแสดงถึงชีวิตและวัฒนธรรมของยุดสมัยที่ผ่านมาความสวยแปลกของวัดภูมินทร์ คือ เป็นพระอุโบสถและพระวิหารสร้างเป็นอาคารหลังเดียวกัน เป็นทรงจัตุรมุข นาคสะดุ้งขนาดใหญ่ แห่แหนพระอุโบสถเทินไว้บนกลางลำตัว ตรงใจกลางพระอุโบสถประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปปางมารวิชัยขนาดใหญ่สี่องค์ ประทับนั่งบนฐานชุกชี หันพระพักตร์ออกด้านประตู ทั้งสี่ทิศ เบื้องพระปฤษฎางค์ชนกัน ภายในพระอุโบสถ มีภาพจิตรกรรมฝาผนังศิลปกรรมไทลื้อ ที่เล่าเรื่องชาดก ตำนานพื้นบ้าน และความเป็นอยู่ของชาวน่านในอดีต
วัดภูมินทร์สร้างขึ้นเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2139 บูรณะครั้งใหญ่เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2410 หลังจากที่สร้างมา 271 ปี จิตรกรรมฝาผนังในวิหารหลวงก็เขียนขึ้นในช่วงนี้ ภาพจิตรกรรมหรือ “ฮูบแต้ม” ในวัดภูมินทร์เป็นชาดกในพุทธศาสนา

วิหารจัตุรมุข เป็นงานสถาปัตยกรรมล้านนาแบบพิเศษ ที่มีความงดงามอยู่อย่างลงตัว โดยนำโบสถ์และวิหารมาสร้างรวมเข้าเป็นอาคารเดียวกัน รูปจัตุรมุข มีบันได และประตูออกทั้งสี่ทิศ ที่ราวบันไดเป็นปูนปั้นรูปพญานาค หันเศียรนาคขึ้นสู่เบื้องบน ภายในวิหารมีพระพุทธรูปปูนปั้นปางมารวิชัยขนาดใหญ่สี่องค์
