การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาข้อมูลทั่วไปของเกษตรกรชาวสวนยาง ข้อมูลการทำสวนยางของเกษตรกร ข้อมูลลักษณะการเก็บและการขายเมล็ดยางพารา และโครงการศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ในการนำเมล็ดยางพาราไปผลิตน้ำมันไบโอดีเซล ในพื้นที่จังหวัดตรัง โดยทำการสอบถาม จากเกษตรกรชาวสวนยาง จำนวน 200 ราย โดยรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยการสัมภาษณ์รายบุคคล ด้วยแบบสอบถามโดยใช้วิธีวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนาและวิเคราะห์เชิงบรรยาย

สำหรับคนที่สนใจเข้าร่วมโครงการ ส่วนใหญ่ต้องการเป็นผู้ขายเมล็ดยางพารารายย่อย รูปแบบที่เหมาะสมในการรวบรวมเมล็ดยางพารา สวนใหญ่เกษตรกรเห็นว่า ควรต่างคนต่างเก็บและขายเมล็ดยางพาราให้กับโครงการด้วยตนเอง ซึ่งกรณีที่ทราบว่าเมล็ดยางพาราสามารถนำไปผลิตน้ำมันไบโอดีเซลได้ เกษตรกรมีความสนใจเก็บเพิ่มขึ้นมาก และสัดส่วนที่เมล็ดยางพาราที่ขายให้กับโครงการเกษตรจะมีการขายให้กับโครงการ 100%โดยเกษตรกรมีความยินดีที่จะขายเมล็ดยางพาราให้กับโครงการเฉลี่ยอยู่ที่ 21 บาทต่อกิโลกรัม
