ในอดีตพื้นที่ป่าโดยรอบน้ำตกแม่สวรรค์น้อยเคยมีสัตว์ป่าขนาดใหญ่และขนาด เล็กอาศัยอยู่อย่างชุกชุม ต่อมาประชาชนเข้ามาบุกรุกแผ้วถางป่าเพื่อทำไร่เลื่อนลอยและอยู่อาศัยจะมีการ ล่าสัตว์กันมากขึ้น มีผลทำให้สัตว์ป่าขนาดใหญ่และสัตว์ป่าบางชนิดต้องอพยพเคลื่อนย้ายหรือสูญ พันธุ์ไปจากพื้นที่ แต่ในปัจจุบันก็ยังมีสัตว์ป่าอีกหลาย ๆ ชนิดที่อาศัยอยู่ในผืนป่าแห่งนี้ ได้แก่ ไก่ป่า เก้ง ชะนี หมูป่า ตะกวด อีเห็น นิ่ม กระรอก กระแต เต่าบก นกนานาชนิด หนู ตุ่น อ้น บ่าง ค้างคาว งูชนิดต่าง ๆ เป็นต้น ซึ่งสัตว์ป่าเหล่านี้ก็ยังคงอยู่ในสภาพที่ถูกมนุษย์คุกคามทั้งสิ้น
