การเตรียมพร้อมของเยาวชนไทยให้ก้าวไกลสู่อาเซียนนั้นเป็นเรื่องสำคัญ โดยอาเซียนนั้นเป็นการรวมตัวกันของ10ประเทศ ในทวีปเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ให้เป็นชุมชนที่มีความแข็งแกร่ง สามารถสร้างโอกาสให้กับทุกคนและสามารถรับมือกับภัยคุกคามต่างๆและรูปแบบใหม่ๆได้ทั้งด้านการเมือง ความมั่นคง เป็นต้น โดยทำให้สมาชิกในชุมชนมีความเป็นอยู่ที่ดี สามารถประกอบกิจกรรมทางเศรษฐกิจได้อย่างสะดวกยิ่งขึ้น
ในฐานะที่เราเป็นหนึ่งในเยาวชนเป็นส่วนสำคัญ ในอนาคตข้างหน้า ที่จะมาพัฒนาประเทศของเรา เพราะฉะนั้น เราจึงต้องเตรียมความพร้อมเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน โดยทุกคนต้องช่วยกันเพื่อประเทศของเรา โดยเราต้องหมั่นศึกษาหาความรู้ โดยเฉพาะการฝึกฝนภาษาอังกฤษ ที่จะเป็นภาษาที่ใช้ในการสื่อสารกับสมาชิกในอาเซียนรวมทั้งเรียนรู้ภาษาของประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน เพราะในปี 2558 จะมีการเคลื่อนย้ายแรงงานในกลุ่มอาเซียนอย่างเสรี ซึ่งหากเยาวชนและแรงงานไทยของเรายังไม่มีความพร้อมหรือมีความสามารถไม่พอกับการแข่งขันก็อาจพลาดจากตำแหน่งงานที่ดีได้ และ8อาชีพที่สามารถย้ายแรงงานฝีมืออย่างเสรีในประชาคมอาเซียนได้แก่ แพทย์ ทันตแพทย์ พยาบาล นักสำรวจ วิศวกรรม บัญชี สถาปัตยกรรม องค์กรบริการหรือการท่องเที่ยว ซึ่งเป็นอาชีพอิสระที่ได้มาตรฐานได้รับการรับรองสามารถเคลื่อนย้ายไปหา
