music, and Beliefs that are Not Profitable or compatible with a Global Marketplace
and Will ultimately cease to be practiced and reproduced. As The internet is Slowly
Becoming Integrated Into Networks of Silk production, and employed As a Central
Plank in Myriad "ICT for Development" Strategies, many of these are Fears
Surfacing in Thailand. In Order to examine this Topic, this Paper asks Whether Silkmaking
Traditions are being replaced As producers interact with customers Distant
Through The internet. The Research Presented here is based on Interviews and
Surveys that were Conducted in 2,007 with 173 Thai Silk Sellers.
