ตลอดในช่วงเดือนกุมภาพันธ์จนถึงกลางเดือนมีนาคมพบว่าฝุ่นละออง PM10 เกินมาตรฐานอย่างต่อเนื่องในบริเวณภาคเหนือของไทย และได้ลดลงในช่วงปลายเดือนมีนาคมอันเนื่องมาจากมีฝนตกทั่วทั้งภูมิภาคทำให้ฝุ่นละอองในอากาศลดลงและการเผาก็ลดลงด้วยเช่นกัน คุณภาพอากาศในช่วงนั้นอยู่ในระดับ "คุณภาพอากาศดี" แต่หลังจากที่ฝนหยุดตกพบว่าระดับฝุ่นละอองมีค่าสูงขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องในทุกสถานี ระดับฝุ่นละอองมีแนวโน้มเกินมาตรฐาน ซึ่งจะมีผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพของประชาชนในพื้นที่

ประชาชนจึงควรปฏิบัติดังนี้
1.ให้ประชาชนงดการเผาในที่โล่งแจ้ง
2.เตรียมหน้ากากอนามัย
3.อยู่ในอาคารหลีกเลี่ยงการทำกิจกรรมในที่โล่งแจ้ง
4.เมื่อพบการเผาให้แจ้งข่าวสารแก่หน่วยงานรับผิดชอบในพื้นที่
