ประวัติความเป็นมาของสมาคมโรงแรมเกาะพะงัน
สมาคมโรงแรมเกาะพะงัน เกิดจากการรวมตัวของผู้ประกอบการโรงแรม จำนวน ราว 17 คน ในเขตพื้นที่เกาะพะงัน ที่มีอุดมการณ์ร่วมกัน คือ การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวเกาะพะงันที่ยั่งยืน ประชุมร่วมกัน ณ ห้องประชุมอำเภอเกาะพะงัน โดยมีตัวแทนภาครัฐ ร่วมเป็นสักขีพยาน ในเดือน สิงหาคม 2555 เป็นการเริ่มต้นการรวม ตัวเป็นครั้งแรก และประชุมร่วมกันอีกหลายครั้ง แยกไปตามโซนต่างๆ ครบทั้ง 5โซน จนกระทั่ง มีการประชุมใหญ่ร่วม กันเป็นครั้ง ในวันที่ 15 ตุลาคม 2555 เพื่อเลือกตั้ง นายกสมาคมฯ ซึ่งผลการเลือกตั้งเห็น ชอบให้ นายธัญญะ พูลสวัสดิ์ เป็น นายกสมาคมก่อตั้ง และได้ยื่นจดทะเบียนต่อนายทะเบียนสมาคมสุราษฎร์ธานี อย่างเป็นทางการ ในวันที่ 11 กุมภาพันธ์ 2556 แล้วจึงเริ่มนับวาระนายกสมาคมฯ เป็นต้นไป จนครบ 6 เดือน และมีการเลือกตั้ง คนต่อไป ในเดือนตุลาคม ปีเดียวกัน และมี นายธัญญะ พูลสัสดิ์ เป็นนายกฯอีกสมัยหนึ่ง มีวาระ 2 ปีโดยให้มีคณะกรรมการบริหารสมาคมขึ้นมาคณะหนึ่ง ประกอบด้วย นายกสมาคมฯ ประธานโซน 5 โซน และคณะกรรมการรวมกัน ไม่เกิน 25 คน โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อส่งเสริม กระตุ้น และประชาสัมพันธ์การท่องเที่ยวเกาะพะงัน ให้เป็นแห่งท่องเที่ยวธรรมชาติ รองรับนักท่องเที่ยวเชิงคุณภาพ
