Eight plants were obtained from a local garden centre as established
seedlings of the Indonesian Kemangie O. citriodorum Vis a
hybrid between O. basilicum and O. americanum. The samples were
checked and identified by expert personnel at the plant science
laboratory of the Department Botany at the University of Reading.
They were kept at the botanical garden of the university during the
period of the study. Samples were collected randomly from the
plants in the morning for each analysis and were analysed within
5–10 min of picking. This analysis was carried out in 5 replicates.
