British student Lucy Hill is relying on backpackers in Thailand to stay alive.
She's 21 and was one week into her gap year when she was involved in a road collision last week while riding a moped.
Lucy, who is originally from Bury, is now relying on blood transfusions but a lack of her rare type A- blood is making it difficult.
The hospital Lucy is in ran out of her blood type on Sunday, meaning her life could be in danger.
People are now responding to an international appeal for backpackers in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to donate blood.

People have been queuing outside Rajavej Chiang Mai Hospital to give blood but more is needed.
Lauren Hall, who is travelling with Lucy, has been speaking to Newsbeat.
"We had absolutely no blood available for Lucy," she says. "Believe me it was scary, that's why I turned to social media.
"She's still critical but stable and we still need blood."

"I can't even tell you how many people have turned up to the hospital to try and help Lucy, if it's not double figures it may even be triple," says Lauren.
"The next step is for her to stabilise. We can't do any more surgery until we have more blood.
"There's not another word than phenomenal for the support. I was initially on my own after the accident and I've never felt more alone in my life."
Lucy's moped accident happened on Saturday.
Lauren says she was wearing a helmet but still suffered a bleed on the brain and severe injuries in other parts of her body.
