ในปัจจุบันภาษาอังกฤษมีความสำคัญในชีวิตประจำวันเป็นอย่างมาก เนื่องจากภาษาอังกฤษเป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญในการติดต่อสื่อสาร การศึกษา การแสวงหาความรู้ การประกอบอาชีพ ซึ่งในประเทศไทยได้ให้ความสำคัญกับภาษาอังกฤษโดยจัดให้มีการเรียนการสอนตั้งแต่ระดับอนุบาลจนถึงมหาวิทยาลัย แต่ในทางกลับกันคนไทยส่วนมากกลับไม่สามารถพูด เขียน ภาษาอังกฤษได้คล่องแคล่วอาจเนื่องมาจากการที่ไม่ได้ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษในการสื่อสารทุกวัน และมีการใช้ในบางโอกาสเท่านั้น
ดังนั้นฉันจึงเห็นด้วยว่าการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในประเทศที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษานั้นดีกว่าการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในประเทศไทย ด้วยเหตุผล 4 ข้อ ดังนี้
1. การเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในประเทศที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษา จะสามารถช่วยเราในเรื่องของการฝึกทักษะ เพราะเราจะได้ยิน ได้ฟัง ได้พูดทุกวันเพื่อใช้ในการติดต่อสื่อสารกับคนในสังคม โดยเฉพาะในเรื่องของการทักษะการฟังที่ตัวฉันเองยังไม่เก่งมากนัก นอกจากนี้การอยู่ในสังคมที่ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษทุกวันจะทำให้เราเกิดความเคยชินและและเป็นการกระตุ้นให้เกิดการเรียนรู้มากขึ้น
2. การเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในประเทศเจ้าของภาษา เป็นการเปิดโอกาสในการพบปะเพื่อนใหม่ๆทั่วทุกมุมโลกที่เดินทางมาโดยมีความตั้งใจเดียวกัน คือ เพื่อมาเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ รวมไปถึงการได้แลกเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรม ภาษา ที่แตกต่างออกไปจากสังคมเดิมของเรา
3. การเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในประเทศเจ้าของภาษา ถือเป็นการได้มาท่องเที่ยว โดยอาจใช้ช่วงวันหยุดสุดสัปดาห์หรือวันหยุดที่ว่างจากการเรียนไปเที่ยวพักผ่อน ไปยังสถานที่ที่ไม่เคยไปและใช้เวลาทำกิจกรรมต่างๆร่วมกับเพื่อนๆในชั้นเรียนอีกด้วย
4. การเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในประเทศเจ้าของภาษา ยังทำให้ได้ประสบการณ์อื่นๆอีกมากมายที่ไม่สามารถหาได้จากประเทศไทย เช่น ประสบการณ์การใช้ชีวิตในต่างแดน การดิ้นรนเพื่อเอาตัวรอด ความรับผิดชอบที่ต้องมากขึ้น ฝึกให้เรามีความอดทนและความเป็นผู้นำ การตัดสินใจ และการมีวิสัยทัศน์ใหม่ๆ
และจุดประสงค์ในการมาเรียนภาษาอังกฤษของฉันในครั้งนี้ เพื่อที่จะมาพัฒนาทักษะทางด้านภาษาและนำไปใช้ในการทำงาน รวมถึงการสื่อสาร และฉันหวังว่านอกจากในเรื่องของภาษาแล้วสิ่งที่จะได้กลับไปคงเป็นเพื่อนใหม่ๆ มิตรภาพที่ดี และประสบการณ์ต่างๆที่ไม่อาจหาได้ในประเทศไทย
