พระบรมราชานุสรณ์ดอนเจดีย์ อยู่ที่ตำบลดอนเจดีย์ ห่างจากตัวเมืองประมาณ 31 กิโลเมตร ตามทางหลวงหมายเลข 322 (สุพรรณบุรี-ดอนเจดีย์) ประกอบด้วย พระบรมราชานุสาวรีย์สมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราช ทรงพระคชาธารออกศึก และ องค์เจดีย์ยุทธหัตถี สมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราชทรงสร้างเจดีย์ขึ้นเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองชัยชนะในสงครามยุทธหัตถีที่ทรงมีต่อพระมหาอุปราชาแห่งพม่าเมื่อเดือนมกราคมในปี พ.ศ.2135 และในปี พ.ศ. 2495 กองทัพบกได้บูรณะปฏิสังขรณ์องค์เจดีย์ขึ้นใหม่ โดยสร้างเป็นเจดีย์แบบลังกาทรงกลมใหญ่ สูง 66 เมตร ฐานกว้างด้านละ 36 เมตร ครอบเจดีย์องค์เดิมไว้ พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวได้ทรงเสด็จไปประกอบพิธีบวงสรวงและเปิดพระบรมราชานุสรณ์ดอนเจดีย์เมื่อวันที่ 25 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2502 ซึ่งรัฐบาลได้กำหนดให้เป็นวันที่ 25 มกราคม ของทุกปี
ต่อมาทางราชบัณฑิตได้คำนวณแล้วพบว่าวันทางจันทรคติที่สมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราชทรงกระทำยุทธหัตถี คือวันจันทร์เดือน 2 แรม 2 ค่ำ จุลศักราช 954 ตรงกับวันที่ 18 มกราคม จึงเปลี่ยนวันดังกล่าวเป็นวันถวายราชสักการะพระบรมราชานุสรณ์ดอนเจดีย์และถือเป็นวันกองทัพไทย พร้อมกันนั้นทางจังหวัดได้จัดให้มีงานเฉลิมฉลองพระบรมราชานุสรณ์ดอนเจดีย์ทุกปี เลยจากเจดีย์ไปประมาณ 100 เมตร เป็นที่ตั้งของ พระตำหนักสมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราช ภายในมีรูปปั้นของสมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราชและพระสุพรรณกัลยา มีผู้นิยมไปสักการะบูชาอยู่เสมอ
ลานจอดรถหน้าพระบรมราชานุสรณ์ดอนเจดีย์ การเดินทางมายังพระบรมราชานุสรณ์ดอนเจดีย์ ใช้เส้นทางปกติที่นิยมใช้กันมาก เป็นเส้นทางสายหลักจากตัวเมืองสุพรรณตรงมายังอำเภอดอนเจดีย์ (ทางหลวงหมายเลข 322) และผ่านด้านหน้าพระบรมราชานุสรณ์ เลี้ยวขวาเข้ามา ก็จะถึงลานจอดรถที่กว้างใหญ่ มีศาลา 2 หลังอยู่ด้านซ้ายและขวา หลังหนึ่งด้านซ้ายมือคือศาลาเสนาณรงค์ ส่วนด้านขวามือคือศาลาสถิตยุทธการ ภายในเป็นร้านค้าขายของหลายอย่าง นอกศาลาก็ยังมีร้านค้ามาเปิดเรียงรายกัน มีทั้งอาหารเครื่องดื่ม ของฝาก ของที่ระลึก ฯลฯ
พระบรมราชานุสรณ์ดอนเจดีย์ จากลานจอดรถมองตรงเข้าไปตรงกลาง เราก็จะเห็นเจดีย์องค์ใหญ่สีขาวสูงตระหง่านอยู่เบื้องหน้า เจดีย์สีขาวสูงใหญ่นี้เป็นเจดีย์ที่สร้างขึ้นในรัชสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๖ หลังจากที่ค้นพบพระสถูปเจดีย์ที่สมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราชโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้สร้างขึ้นไว้ เมื่อ 400 ปีก่อน เมื่อครั้งที่ค้นพบพระสถูปเจดีย์นั้นได้ชำรุดทรุดโทรมลงไปมาก จนเหลือเพียงซากส่วนฐานและสูงขึ้นมาเพียง 6 เมตร เศษ เพื่อเป็นการรำลึกถึงพระมหากรุณาธิคุณในสมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราช ในการกอบกู้เอกราชด้วยการกระทำยุทธหัตถี ทำให้ประเทศไทยได้เป็นปึกแผ่นมั่นคงมีเอกราชมาจวบจนถึงทุกวันนี้ ซึ่งที่นี่ก็มีการนำเอาบทความพระราชประวัติสมเด็จพระนเรศวรตั้งแต่ครั้งยังทรงพระเยาว์ จนกระทั่งทรงกระทำยุทธหัตถีชนะ ทรงโปรดให้สร้างพระสถูปเจดีย์ ย่อแล้วมาแบ่งเป็นส่วนๆ ให้ได้อ่านกันต่อ บทความนี้เรียบเรียงโดย นายบุญมี หมื่นราม ซึ่งมีจำหน่ายที่ศูนย์บริการนักท่องเที่ยว
