ครูวิบูลย์ มาเรือน เกิดที่บ้านดอนตัน จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 24 พฤศจิกายน 2507 ได้รับการถ่ายทอดการแกะสลักจากนายบุญเลิศ ซึ่งเป็นน้าชายมาตั้งแต่นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 หลังจากสำเร็จการศึกษาชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 7 eได้ศึกษาเพิ่มเติมจากช่างแกะสลักที่มีชื่อเสียง เช่น คุณสยาม ปะทะนม ปรีย์ จากจังหวัดแพร่ ช่างวิสุตร ทองคำ จากบ้านดอนตัน อำเภอสันป่าตอง จังหวัดเชียงใหม่
ในปี พ.ศ.2537 ได้เริ่มแกะสลักพุทธประวัติในโบสถ์ตามวัดต่างๆต่อมาในปี พ.ศ .2538 ภาวะเศรษฐกิจเริ่มตกต่ำ ผลงานไม่ได้ราคา จึงคิดสร้างสรรค์งานโดยนำไม้เก่ามาแกะสลักภาพกินรีอยู่ในป่าหิมพานต์และพัฒนาลายพื้นเมืองมาผสมกับดอกพุดตานจนเป็นลวดลายที่มีชื่อเสียงว่าวิจิตรสวยงามอย่างยิ่ง
ปัจจุบันครูวิบูลย์ แกะสลักไม้รูปกินรี รูปคน รูปสัตว์ และแกะสลักฝาผนัง ออกแบบลายหน้าบันโบสถ์วิหาร วัดถ้าในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่และต่างจังหวัด และเป็นช่างแกะสลักภาพกินรีให้แก่บ้านร้อยอันพันอย่าง ซึ่งเป็นแหล่งรวบรวมผลงานทางศิลปะต่างๆในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่

-ได้รับยกย่องเป็นครูภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นด้านไม้แกะสลัก จากสำนักงานพระพุทธศาสนาแห่งชาติ เมื่อวันที่ 6 พฤศจิกายน 2555
-ได้รับยกย่องเป็นครูสอนวิชาภูมิปัญญาของโรงเรียนสันป่าตอง (วัดศรีปันเงิน) เมื่อวันที่ 20 ธันวาคม 2555
-ได้รับเชิดชูเกียรติ จากศูนย์ส่งเสริมศิลปะชีพระหว่างประเทศ (องค์กรเอกชน) เป็น “ครูช่างศิลปหัตถกรรม” ประจำปี 2557 เมื่อวันที่ 8 สิงหาคม 2557
