บทคัดย่อ
การศึกษาปัญหาสุนัขจรจัด มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงสถานการณ์ปัญหาสุนัขจรจัด ผลกระทบต่างๆ กฎหมายคุ้มครองสัตว์ โรคที่เกิดจากสัตว์ แนวทางการป้องกันรักษา การศึกษาได้ค้นคว้าจากสื่ออินเทอร์เน็ตต่างๆทำให้ได้ข้อมูลที่หลากหลายและคัดกรองมาแล้ว



จากการศึกษาสามารถสรุปได้ว่า ปัญหาสุนัขจรจัดเป็นปัญหาใหญ่ที่มีมานาน มีแนวโน้มที่จะมีปริมาณเพิ่มขึ้นเรื่อยๆทุกๆปี ไม่ว่าจะไปที่ไหนเรามักจะเห็นสุนัขจรจัดอยู่เสมอ จากผลการสำรวจจำนวนสุนัขในกรุงเทพมหานคร โดยสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติที่มีการสำรวจในปี 2553 พบว่า สุนัขที่มีเจ้าของมีจำนวน 597,357 ตัว สุนัขไม่มีเจ้าของ (จรจัด) มีอยู่ประมาณ 102,490 ตัว ปัญหาสุนัขจรจัด เกิดจากการที่มีการเพิ่มของจำนวนประชากรสุนัขมากเกินไป (OVER POPULATION) ซึ่งสาเหตุใหญ่ ๆ มาจากการขาดความรับผิดชอบของเจ้าของสัตว์ ปัญหาสุนัขจรจัดส่งผลกระทบต่อสังคมเช่น เป็นสาเหตุสิ่งแวดล้อมสกปรก ไม่เป็นระเบียบ อุบัติเหตุทางด้านการจราจร มลพิษทางเสียง ที่สำคัญคือทางด้านสุขอนามัยเป็นพาหะนำโรคต่างๆเช่น ปรสิต พิษสุนัขบ้า ขี้กลาก และเลปโตสไปโรซิส การแก้ไขปัญหาควรเริ่มจากผู้เลี้ยงสุนัข ควรมั่นใจว่าสามารถมีความรับผิดชอบต่อสัตว์เลี้ยงไม่ปล่อยสัตว์เลี้ยงของตนเองเป็นปัญหาของผู้อื่นและสังคม
