หมู่บ้านห้วยแม่ซ้าย หมู่ที่ 11 ตำบลแม่ยาว เดิมตั้งถิ่นฐานอยู่ตำบลห้วยชมภู อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดเชียงราย ต่อมาเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2488 ได้อพยพย้ายถิ่นฐานมาอาศัยอยู่บริเวณดอยบ่อ
