คทลียา “ควีนสิริกิติ์” (Cattleya Queen Sirikhit) บุปผาราชินีเมื่อบริษัท Black & Flory Ltd. แห่งประเทศอังกฤษ ได้คิดค้นกล้วยไม้ลูกผสมระหว่างต้นแม่พันธุ์ แคทลียา โบเบลล์ (Cattleya Bow Bells) และต้นพ่อพันธุ์แคทลียา ออเบรียนเนียนา (Cattleya Obrieniana var. aba) ในปี พ.ศ. 2501 และได้รับรางวัลยอดเยี่ยมจากราชสมาคมพืชสวนอังกฤษ ( The Royal Horticulture Society) จึงได้มีการกราบบังคมทูลสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ ขอพระราชทานพระราชานุญาตเชิญพระนามาภิไธย “สิริกิติ์” เป็นชื่อของกล้วยไม้ลูกผสมพันธุ์นี้ว่า แคทลียา “ควีนสิริกิติ์” และไ้ด้ขึ้น ทะเบียนลูกผสมใหม่จากราชสมาคมพืชสวนอังกฤษเมื่อวันที่ 1 ก.พ. 2501เมื่อวันที่ 1 สิงหาคม 2551 ซึ่งถือเป็นวันสตรีไทย ทางสภาสตรีแห่งชาติฯ ได้รับพระมหากรุณาธิคุณจากสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าพระบรมราชินีนาถ พระราชทานดอกกล้วยไม้พระนาม แทคลียา ควีนสิริกิติ์ เพื่อใช้เป็นดอกไม้สัญลักษณ์ประจำวันสตรีไทยลักษณะทั่วไปเป็นต้นกล้วยไม้สูง 20-40 ซม. ลำลูกกล้วยรูปทรงกระบอก ใบรูปขอบขนาน ดอกออกเดี่ยวหรือเป็นช่อ 1-4 ดอก สีขาวนวล กลีบรองดอกรูปรีแกมสามเหลี่ยม กลีบดอก 5 กลีบ มีกลีบปากแผ่กว้าง ขอบกลีบย่นเป็นคลื่น ตรงกลางกลีบมีแต้มสีเหลืองทองด้านใน เมื่อบานเต็มที่ขนาดเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง 12-14 ซม. มีกลิ่นหอมหวานอ่อนๆ ฝักรูปทรงสามเหลี่ยม ออกดอกตลอดปี
