1. เป็นการทดสอบเพื่อดูโครงสร้างของโปรแกรม หรือทางเดินในโปรแกรม (Structured Testing)
2. ต้องสร้างชุดทดสอบเฉพาะสำหรับการทดสอบในเงื่อนไขต่าง ๆ
3. ชุดทดสอบจะต้องประกอบด้วยชุดที่สามารถประมวลผลอย่างปกติและไม่ปกติ
4. พยายามให้ทุกๆ Statement ถูกประมวลผล อย่างน้อย 1 ครั้ง
