กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา จัดตั้ง

กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา จัดตั้งขึ้นตามพระราชบัญญัติปรับปรุงกระทรวง ทบวง กรม พ.ศ.๒๕๔๕ หมวด ๕ ตามมาตรา ๑๔ กำหนดให้กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา มีอำนาจหน้าที่เกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมสนับสนุน และพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยว การกีฬา การศึกษา ด้านกีฬา นันทนาการ และราชการอื่นตามที่กฎหมายกำหนด ให้อำนาจหน้าที่ของกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา มีส่วนราชการตามมาตรา ๑๕ ดังต่อไปนี้ (๑) สำนักงานรัฐมนตรี (๒) สำนักงานปลัดกระทรวง (๓) สำนักงานพัฒนาการกีฬาและนันทนาการ (๔) สำนักงานพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยว
ตามพระราชกฤษฎีกาโอนกิจการบริหารและอำนาจหน้าที่ของส่วนราชการ ให้เป็นไปตามพระราชบัญญัติปรับปรุงกระทรวง ทบวง กรม พ.ศ.๒๕๔๕ ส่วนที่ ๔ มาตรา ๒๒ ถึงมาตรา ๒๖ ให้โอนทรัพย์สิน งบประมาณหนี้ สิทธิ ภาระผูกพัน ข้าราชการ ลูกจ้าง และอัตรากำลังของกระทรวงศึกษาธิการในส่วนกรมพลศึกษา (ยกเว้นกองยุวกาชาดและกองการลูกเสือ) มาเป็นหน่วยงานในสังกัดกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา มาตรา ๒๗ ให้โอนงานส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ ในสำนักงานพัฒนานโยบายและแผนการประชาสัมพันธ์ กรมประชาสัมพันธ์ มาเป็นสำนักงานพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยว กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา มาตรา 28 ให้โอนอำนาจหน้าที่ของรัฐมนตรีในการดำเนินงานเกี่ยวกับหน่วยงานของรัฐดังต่อไปนี้มาเป็นของรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา (๑) การกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทย (๒) การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย มาตรา ๒๙
