โครงงานภาษาต่างประเทศ เรื่อง การพัฒนาศักยภาพนักเรียนด้านภาษาอังกฤษด้วยการแข่งขันครอสเวิร์ดเกม เกิดขึ้นเนื่องจากนักเรียนส่วนใหญ่ ไม่รู้จัก ไม่เข้าใจในคำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษ ถึงแม้ว่าบางคำจะพบได้บ่อยและทั่วไปก็ตาม นักเรียนไม่สามารถจดจำคำศัพท์ได้เลย ทั้งที่ครูผู้สอนพยายามหาหลากหลายวิธีเพื่อให้นักเรียนสามารถจำคำศัพท์ได้ อาทิเช่น การเขียนตามคำบอก การสะกดคำ การอ่านคำพร้อมแปล ทั้งที่เป็นกลุ่มและเดี่ยว แต่ความสนใจของนักเรียนก็ยังไม่เพียงพอ ผู้สอนจึงได้นำเอาครอสเวิร์ดเกมเข้ามาใช้ในการเรียนการสอน โดยให้เริ่มจากการใช้คำศัพท์จากเกมนี้ พบว่า นักเรียนให้ความสนใจมากขึ้นทุกระดับชั้น จึงได้ขอร้องไปทางครูผู้สอนให้จัดกิจกรรมการแข่งขันครอสเวิร์ดในโรงเรียน โดยให้นักเรียนทุกระดับชั้นส่งตัวแทนเพื่อเข้าร่วมแข่งขัน รวมทั้งพวกเราทั้ง 3 คน พบว่า นักเรียนให้ความสนใจเป็นอย่างดี รักในการจดจำคำศัพท์ รักในวิชาภาษาอังกฤษมากขึ้น และต้องการให้มีการแข่งขันเช่นนี้ต่อไปในทุกภาคเรียน
