The customer wants to set up nominal ledger prior year journals

SETTING UP PRIOR YEAR JOURNALS (nominal)

1) Authorisation from the customer should be gained before proceeding with the setup.

2) In the NL System maintenance, System parameters go to the EOD/Period page.

3) Tick the box Allow prior year journals and set the parameter Prior year journal type to PY

4) These fields can be switched on at any time.

5) Check that daybook type 9 is set up in NL, Kerridge utilities, Daybook types. If not then type 9 needs to be created with the following fields:

a. Type = 9
b. Description = Prior Year Journal
c. IDJ Allowed = N

6) Once the nominal ledger has been advanced into period 1, the options Enter prior year journals and Close prior year journals become visible from the Period end options menu.

7) The prior year journals can be entered during the year but will need to be closed before the following year end is advanced.
