การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการอ่านออกเสียงภาษาอังกฤษได้อย่างถูกต้องโดยใช้สื่อแบบฝึกทักษะการอ่านออกเสียงภาษาอังกฤษชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่3 โรงเรียนวัดแจ้งเจริญ (บุญเหลือประชาสังเคราะห์) อำเภอวัดเพลง จังหวัดราชบุรี ในฐานะที่เป็นครูภาษาอังกฤษได้ทำการสอนในระดับประถมศึกษาได้ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการอ่านและเคยประสบปัญหาเกี่ยวกับการอ่านของนักเรียนอยู่เสมอ นักเรียนอ่านออกเสียงคำศัพท์ไม่ถูกต้องตามหลักไวยากรณ์ การใช้แบบฝึกหัด บัตรคำต่างๆ ในการอ่านเพื่อเป็นเครื่องมือในการที่จะทำให้นักเรียนเกิดทักษะในการอ่านมากขึ้นและมีประสิทธิภาพ แบบฝึกการอ่านคำศัพท์ จะทำให้เรามองเห็นจุดเด่น จุดบกพร่องของนักเรียน จากการทำแบบฝึกการอ่านคำศัพท์ ยังเป็นเครื่องมือในการวัดว่านักเรียน มีพัฒนาการทางด้านการอ่านคำศัพท์ มากน้อยเพียงใด
