การแพร่กระจายของหอยหลอด (Solen Spp.) บริเวณดอนหอยหลอดจังหวัดสมุทรสงคราม ในเดือนมิถุนายนและเดือนสิงหาคม พ.ศ.2557 พบว่ามีหอยหลอดแพร่กระจายอยู่ทั่วไป โดยในเดือนมิถุนายนมีความหนาแน่นอยู่ในช่วง 16-32 ตัวต่อตารางเมตร ปริมาณน้ำในดินตะกอนอยู่ในช่วง 25.26-31.63 และปริมาณสารอินทรีย์รวมในดินตะกอนอยู่ในช่วง 2.04-3.09 สำหรับในเดือนสิงหาคมมีความหนาแน่นอยู่ในช่วง 3-20 ตัวต่อตารางเมตร ปริมาณน้ำในดินตะกอนอยู่ในช่วง 24.56-29.87 และปริมาณสารอินทรีย์รวมในดินตะกอนอยู่ในช่วง 1.76-5.14 ดังนั้นในการศึกษาครั้งนี้พบว่ามีความหนาแน่นอยู่ในช่วง 3-32 ตัวต่อตารางเมตร และจากการหาความสัมพันธ์ทางสถิติระหว่างปริมาณน้ำในดินตะกอนและขนาดของตะกอนดินกับความหนาแน่นของประชากรหอยหลอดพบว่าไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กันทางสถิติ และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปริมาณสารอินทรีย์รวมในดินตะกอนกับความหนาแน่นของประชากรหอยหลอดพบว่า มีความสัมพันธ์ในทิศทางตรงกันข้ามกันทางสถิติอย่างมีนัยสำคัญยิ่ง(p
