MMORPG : Massively Mutiplayer Online Role-Playing Game เป็นเกมออนไลน์ประเภทแรกที่เกิดขึ้นในโลก จนถึงปัจจุบันนี้ก็ยังมีเกมออนไลน์ประเภทนี้ออกใหม่อยู่เรื่อยๆ จุดเด่นของเกมประเภทนี้คือ ผู้เล่นสามารถสร้างตัวละครขึ้นมาตัวหนึ่งและสวมบทบาทเป็นละครตัวนั้นผจญภัยไปตามเนื้อเรื่องของตัวเกม สามารถอัพเลเวลของตัวละครรวมถึงหาซื้อไอเทมต่างๆ มาเพิ่มความสามารถให้กับตัวละครของเราได้ เกมประเภทนี้สามารถเล่นได้เรื่อยๆ ไม่มีวันจบ เพราะผู้พัฒนาเกมจะทำการอัพเดท patch ที่เกี่ยวกับเนื้อเรื่องใหม่ๆ แผนที่ใหม่ๆ ออกมาอยู่ตลอดเวลา
