การศึกษาวิจัยครั้งนี้ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความรู้ พฤติกรรมการปฏิบัติตน และความเชื่อด้านสุขภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวาน ตำบลปากโทก อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดพิษณุโลก โดยศึกษากลุ่มตัวอย่างประชาชนในตำบลปากโทก จำนวน 147 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ การใช้แบบสอบถามโดยแบ่งออกเป็น 4 ส่วน เช่น 1) ข้อมูลทั่วไปของผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวาน 2) ความรู้ด้านสุขภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวาน 3) พฤติกรรมการปฏิบัติตนของผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวาน 4) ความเชื่อด้านสุขภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวาน และนำมาวิเคราะห์โดยโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปสถิติที่ใช้ในการศึกษา ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน
