เรื่องราวของแม่นากพระโขนงปรากฏอยู่ทั่วไปตามความเชื่อของคนไทยร่วมสมัยและตราบจนปัจจุบัน เช่น เชื่อว่าชื่อสี่แยกมหานาค ที่เขตดุสิตในปัจจุบัน มาจากการที่แม่นากอาละวาดขยายตัวให้ใหญ่ และล้นเกล้ารัชกาลที่ 4 ก็ยังเคยเสด็จทอดพระเนตรด้วย หรือ เชื่อว่าพระรูปที่มาปราบแม่นากได้นั้นคือสมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์ (โต พรหมรังสี) เป็นต้น อีกทั้งยังเชื่อว่าท่านเป็นคนเจาะกะโหลกที่หน้าผากของแม่นากทำเป็นปั้นเหน่ง เพื่อสะกดวิญญาณแม่นาก และได้สร้างห้องเพื่อเก็บปั้นเหน่งชิ้นนี้ไว้ต่างหาก หรือหม่อมราชวงศ์คึกฤทธิ์ ปราโมช ก็ยังได้เขียนบันทึกเอาไว้ว่า เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2468 ซึ่งเป็นสมัยที่ท่านยังเป็นเด็ก ท่านเคยเห็นเรือนของแม่นากด้วย เป็นเรือนลักษณะเหมือนเรือนไทยภาคกลางทั่วไปอยู่ติดริมคลองพระโขนง มีเสาเรือนสูง มีห้องครัวอยู่ด้านหลัง ซึ่งปัจจุบันนี้ได้ถูกรื้อถอนไปแล้ว
