งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงคเพื่อออกแบบ และพัฒนาระบบ สนับสนุนการตัดสินใจ สําหรับพิจารณาการใหสวนลดแกลูกคา โดยใชกรณีศึกษาของรานดวงมณีอะไหลยนต ในงานวิจัยนี้ ผูวิจัยไดใชเทคนิคระบบแบบอิงกฎเกณฑ (Rule-Based System) ในการพัฒนาเพื่อชวยสนบัสนุนการตัดสินใจของผูบริหาร และ คัดเลือกลูกคาที่มีสิทธิ์ไดรับสวนลด โดยไดออกแบบกฎและ ระบุโครงสรางสําหรับพัฒนาโปรแกรมใหสามารถ วิเคราะหผล ไดตรงตามความตองการของผูใช และสามารถทํางานไดอยางมี ประสิทธิภาพ ผลการทดสอบประสิทธภิาพของระบบโดย ผูเชี่ยวชาญจํานวน 5 คน และผูใชงานทั่วไปจํานวน 15 คน พบวาคาเฉลี่ยของผูเชี่ยวชาญที่ไดอยูที่ 3.98 (สวนเบี่ยงเบน มาตรฐานอยูที่ 0.57) และคาเฉลี่ยของผูใชงานทั่วไปอยูที่ 3.96 (สวนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานอยูที่ 0.59) สรุปไดวาระบบที่พัฒนาขึ้น มีประสิทธิภาพอยูในระดับดี
