        จากตารางจะพบว่า แนวโน้มการนำเข้า-ส่งออก มีแนวโน้มขยายตัวเพิ่มสูงขึ้นมาก  จึงทำให้จังหวัดตราด ต้องมีการเตรียมความพร้อมในด้านต่างๆ เพิ่มมากขึ้น รวมทั้งในปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๘ ประเทศไทยจะก้าวเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน  จังหวัดตราดจึงต้องมีการเตรียมความพร้อมเพื่อที่จะรับการเข้าสู่ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน  ประชาคมสังคม-วัฒนธรรมอาเซียนและประชาคมความมั่นคงอาเซียน  ทั้งนี้ ด้วยคณะกรรมาธิการ การเงิน การคลัง การธนาคาร และสถาบันการเงิน สภาผู้แทนราษฎร ได้มีมติตั้งคณะอนุกรรมาธิการเพื่อศึกษา เรื่องการจัดตั้งเขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษจังหวัดชายแดนประเทศไทย  เพื่อรองรับประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียนในปี ๒๕๕๘  ซึ่งจังหวัดตราดได้รับคัดเลือกให้เป็นเขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษฯ เนื่องจากมีศักยภาพด้านการค้าชายแดน มีด่านถาวร ช่องทางการติดต่อกับราชอาณาจักรกัมพูชา จึงต้องมีการเตรียมพร้อมในด้านการค้าการลงทุน เพื่อก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ต่อประเทศไทย และประชาชนชาวจังหวัดตราด
