ประวัติโรงเรียนสตรีภูเก็ต
โรงเรียนสตรีภูเก็ตตั้งขึ้นโดยพระยารัษฎานุประดิษฐ์มหิศรภักดี สมุหเทศาภิบาลมณฑลภูเก็ต ร่วมกับคณะกรรมการสตรี ได้จัดหาเงินเพื่อสร้างโรงเรียนสำหรับสตรีขึ้น สถานที่บริเวณถนนสตูลเชิงเขารัง พ.ศ. ๒๔๕๒ โดยได้วางศิลาจารึกไว้ว่า " โรงเรียนษัตรี สร้างปี ๑๒๗" และในขณะที่อาคารเรียนยังก่อสร้างไม่แล้วเสร็จ ได้สร้างเรือนไม้ชั่วคราวขึ้นในบริเวณวัดมงคลนิมิตรเพื่อให้นักเรียนได้ใช้เรียน โดยเปิดสอนเฉพาะระดับประถม สมเด็จพระบรมโอรสาธิราช เจ้าฟ้ามหาวชิรวุธสยามมกุฏราชกุมาร เสด็จพระราชดำเนินทรงเปิดและพระราชทานนามโรงเรียนว่า "ปลูกปัญญา" เมื่อวันที่ ๒๙ เมษายน พ.ศ.๒๔๕๒
