สร้างขึ้นตามคติความเชื่อศาสนาฮินดูลัทธิไศวนิกาย  นับถือพระศิวะเป็นมหาเทพ  สร้างขึ้นราวพุทธศตวรรษที่  ๑๖  (พ.ศ.  ๑๕๖๐-๑๖๖๐)    เพื่อถวายเป็นที่ประทับแด่พระศิวะ   จัดอยู่ในศิลปะแบบบาปวน เป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์มรดกภูมิปัญญา
