การศึกษาความหลากหลายชนิดของโปรโตซัวเพื่อใช้เป็นดัชนีบ่งชี้คุณภาพน้ำในแหล่งน้ำจืดหอพุทธทาสธรรมโฆษณ์ ต.ขุนทะเล อ.เมือง จ.สุราษฎร์ธานี เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความหลากหลายชนิดของโปรโตซัวเพื่อใช้เป็นดัชนีบ่งชี้คุณภาพของน้ำทางด้านกายภาพ ในแหล่งน้ำจืดหอพุทธทาสธรรมโฆษณ์ ต.ขุนทะเล อ.เมือง จ.สุราษฎร์ธานี ซึ่งได้ทำการศึกษาแหล่งน้ำที่หอพุทธทาสธรรมโฆษณ์ 2 แหล่ง รวม 8 จุด โดยแต่ละแหล่งจะแบ่งออกเป็น 4 จุด ในการเก็บตัวอย่างน้ำแต่ละแหล่งแต่ละจุดจะต้องเก็บตัวอย่างน้ำซ้ำ 3 ครั้ง 3 ระดับ ได้แก่ ระดับผิวน้ำ ระดับน้ำ 10-30 cm. และระดับน้ำ 30-50 cm. ได้ทำการศึกษา ตั้งแต่วันที่ 15 มกราคม 2558 ถึง วันที่ 15 เมษายน 2558 ผลการศึกษามีรายละเอียดดังนี้
แหล่งที่ 1 พบโปรโตซัวทั้งหมด 9 ชนิด คือ class ciliatea คือ Euplotes patella, class ostracoda คือ Moinodaphnia, class phytomastigophorea คือ Cyclogramma trichocystis , Chlamydomononas sp., Phacus longicauda, Phacus platalea, Euglena anabaena, Euglena pseudoviridis, และ class kineto fragminophorea คือ Frontoniella complanata
