นิทานอาเซียน ประเทศมาเลเซีย เรื่องลูกกระจงน้อยกับจระเข้
นานมาแล้ว มีจระเข้ร้ายตัวหนึ่งอาศัยอยู่กับฝูงที่แม่น้ำกว้างใหญ่ เจ้าจระเข้ร้ายคอยจ้องจับกินลูกกระจงน้อยตัวหนึ่งมานานแล้วแต่ก็จับไม่ได้สักที เพราะเจ้าลูกกระจงตัวนี้ฉลาดเฉลียวอย่าบอกใครวันหนึ่ง ลูกกระจงอยากข้ามแม่น้ำไปหากินหญ้าและผลไม้อีกฝั่งแม่น้ำ แต่ไม่รู้ว่าจะผ่านเจ้าจระเข้ร้ายไปได้อย่างไร เจ้าลูกกระจงพยายามครุ่นคิดอย่างหนักจนคิดแผนดีๆขึ้นได้เจ้าลูกกระจงจึงเดินไปที่แม่น้ำแล้วตะโกนเรียกจระเข้ร้ายเสียงดังลั่น เจ้าจระเข้ก็รีบโผล่พรวดขึ้นมาทันที “เจ้าลูกกระจง เจ้าเรียกข้างั้นเหรอ ไม่กลัวข้าลากเจ้าไปกินรึไง” ลูกกระจงน้อยแสร้งทำเป็นกลัวตัวสั่น และบอกด้วยเสียงอันสั่นเครือว่า ได้รับคำสั่งจากพระราชา ให้มานับจำนวนจระเข้ในแม่น้ำใหญ่ เพื่อเชิญไปงานเลี้ยงค่ำนี้

จระเข้ร้ายรู้ตัวว่าถูกหลอกก็หน้าเสีย เพื่อนๆจระเข้ต่างรุมต่อว่ามัน ด้วยความโกรธแค้น และพากันตำหนิที่เจ้าจระเข้ร้ายทำให้พวกมันต้องเสียหน้า จากวันนั้นจระเข้ร้ายก็ถูกเพื่อน ๆ เฉยเมยกับมันไปพักใหญ่ทีเดียว
