วัดดอนยายหอมในอดีตชาวบ้านเรียกว่า วัดโคกยายหอม ปัจจุบันร้างเป็นโบราณสถาน เรียกว่า "เนินพระ" ตำนานเล่าสืบกันมาว่า ยายหอมตั้งบ้านเรือนอยู่ตรงบริเวณนี้ เป็นผู้เลี้ยงพระยาพาน วัดนี้รกร้างมากว่า 1 พันปี ต่อมามีวัดโคกยายหอมอีกตั้งอยู่หมู่ที่ 2 ตำบลดอนยายหอม เป็นวัดเก่าแก่จวนร้างเหมือนกัน มีพระสงฆ์ประจำอยู่ 2-3 รูป สร้างในสมัยใดไม่มีหลักฐานปรากฏ
