ธงชาติไทย (Thailand National Flag) หรือธงไตรรงค์ เป็นสัญญลักษณ์อย่างหนึ่งของประเทศไทย โดยถูกประกาศใช้เป็นธงประจำชาติตั้งแต่สมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฏเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวหรือล้นเกล้ารัชกาลที่ 6 ในปี พ.ศ. 2460 แทนธงแบบเดิมที่มีรูปช้างเผือกอยู่ตรงกลาง ซึ่งทำยากและใช้ไม่แพร่หลาย และมักจะมีการชักธงกลับหัวทำให้ไม่สวยงามอันเนื่องมาจากความไม่สมมาตรนั่นเอง จึงทรงออกแบบธงใหม่เป็นรูปแบบที่ใช้ในปัจจุบันและทรงพระราชทานนามธงชาติไทยว่า “ธงไตรรงค์”

คำว่า “ธงไตรรงค์” นั้น ได้มาจากการรวมกันของคำ 3 คำ คือคำว่า ธง คำว่าไตร (แปลว่า 3) และคำว่า รงค์ (แปลว่าสี) เมื่อรวมกันจึงแปลได้ว่า “ธงสามสี” นั่นเอง
