ประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้คือมารดาวัยรุ่นอายุ 13-19 ปี ที่มีภูมิลำเนาอยู่ใน อ.เมือง จ.ลำปาง จำนวน 744 คน เลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างการคำนวณกลุ่มตัวอย่าง ตามวิธีการคำนวณของ Taro Yamane โดยที่การวิจัยครั้งนี้กำหนดค่านัยสำคัญที่ระดับ 0.1 ดังนี้
