โปรดนำใบอนุญาตไปต่ออายุใบอนุญาตก่อนใบอนุญาตสิ้นอายุ หากขาดต่ออายุใบอนุญาตและยังคงดำเนินการสถานพยาบาลต่อไป ถือว่า เป็นการดำเนินการสถานพยาบาลโดยไม่รับอนุญาต ต้องระวางโทษจำคุกไม่เกินสามปีหรือปรับไม่เกินหกหมื่นบาทหรือทั้งจำทั้งปรับ และ ศาลจะสั่งให้ริบบรรดาสิ่งของที่ใช้ในการประกอบกิจการสถานพยาบาลด้วยก็ได้ (มาตรา ๕๗ แห่งพระราชบัญญัติสถานพยาบาล ๒๕๔๑)
