การวิจัยเรื่องนี้ใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาการบริโภคอาหารขยะของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ 2) เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการบริโภคอาหารขยะของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลในการทำนายพฤติกรรมการบริโภคอาหารขยะ ประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ นักศึกษาระดับ ปริญญาตรีในมหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ จำนวน 110 คน ทำการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลแบบบังเอิญทุกวันเสาร์ และวันอาทิตย์ ตั้งแต่เวลา 13.00 น. ถึง 18.00 น. เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นแบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ (Percentage) ค่าเฉลี่ย (Mean) ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (S.D.) ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1) มีความคิดเห็นต่อพฤติกรรมการบริโภคอาหารขยะโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับที่ไม่แน่ใจ โดยมีค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิตเท่ากับ 3.32 และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานเท่ากับ 1.32 2)มีความคิดเห็นต่อทัศนคติในการบริโภคอาหารขยะโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับที่เห็นด้วย โดยมีค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิตเท่ากับ 4.02 และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานเท่ากับ 1.00
