วัดไผ่ล้อม ตั้งอยู่บนเกาะเกร็ด ด้านทิศเหนือของเกาะเกร็ด ริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา หมู่ที่ 6 ตำบลเกาะเกร็ด อำเภอปากเกร็ด จังหวัดนนทบุรี เป็นวัดโบราณที่สร้างสมัยอยุธยาตอนปลายมีอุโบสถที่งดงามมาก หน้าอุโบสถมีเจดีย์ขยาดย่อม 2 องค์ รูปทรงเจดีย์ทรงรามัญประดับลายปูนปั้น คนมอญเรียกวัดนี้ว่า “เพี๊ยะโต้”

วัดไผ่ล้อม เป็นวัดโบราณที่สร้างมาตั้งแต่สมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา อาจจะเป็นวัดเก่าแก่ที่สุดวัดหนึ่งบนเกาะเกร็ด แต่ได้เป็นวัดร้างไปตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2308 เพราพม่าเข้าตีและยึดเมืองนนทบุรี จากนั้นเข้าตีกรุงศรีอยุธยาได้เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2310 จึงไม่มีพระสงฆ์และชาวบ้านดูแลวัด พ.ศ. 2317 ได้มีคนมอญมาบูรณปฏิสังขรณ์วัดขึ้นใหม่ วัดไผ่ล้อมถึงมีพระสงฆ์อยู่ประจำวัดสืบมา แต่วัดคงมีสภาพทรุดโทรมมากเพราะมีชาวบ้านไม่มาก ประกอบกับวัดถูกทิ้งร้างมานาน

ต่อมาอำแดงแตนได้ทำการบูรณปฏิสังขรณ์ อุโบสถ และได้รับพระราชทานวิสุงคามสีมา เมื่อวันที่ 29 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2446 ที่ ตั้งวัดไผ่ล้อมอยู่กลางระหว่าง วัดมอญอีก 2 วัด คือวัดปรมัยยิกาวาสและวัดเสาธงทอง คนมอญจึงเรียกวัดไผ่ล้อมในภาษามอญว่า เภี่ยะโต้ แปลว่าวัดกลาง การตั้งอยู่ระหว่างวัดดังที่กล่าว ประกอบกับมีชุมชนใกล้วัดจนเกือบจะเป็นวัดร้าง

พ.ศ. 2527 พระปลัดวันชัย วา ยาโม ศิษย์พระราชอุดมมงคลหรือหลวงพ่ออุตตมะ วัดวังวิเวการาม อำเภอสังขละ จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี ได้รับตำแหน่งเจ้าอาวาสวัดไผ่ล้อม ได้ร่วมกับชาวบ้านพัฒนาวัดไผ่ล้อมจนมีสภาพดี ประกอบกับเกาะเกร็ด ได้เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวทางวัฒนธรรมมอญที่สำคัญ วัดไผ่ล้อมจึงมีนักท่องเที่ยวมาทำบุญที่วัดมาก วัดไผ่ล้อมเดิมเป็นวัดที่สังกัดคณะสงฆ์รามัญนิกาย ปัจจุบันสังกัดคณะสงฆ์มหานิกาย
