นายวิรัช สมภพศุภนาถ ผู้ประสานงานชุมชน มูลนิธิฯ เมอร์ซี่ เซ็นเตอร์ กล่าวว่า มูลนิธิฯ ได้ตั้งศูนย์พัฒนาเด็กเล็กใน 21 ศูนย์และใน 9 แคมป์ก่อสร้างทั้งใน กทม.และปริมณฑล ดูแลเด็กปฐมวัยกว่า 3,000 คน ทั้งให้ทุนการศึกษากับเด็กยากไร้ มีค่าใช้จ่ายแต่ละปี 70-80 ล้านบาท ส่วนใหญ่มาจากเงินบริจาค ขณะที่ กทม. สนับสนุนเพียง 5% อีกทั้งบางศูนย์ก็ไม่ได้รับการสนับสนุนเพราะติดเงื่อนไขทางราชการ.
