ปัจจุบันคุณลักษณะด้านสีของผลิตภัณฑ์เป็นสิ่งสำคัญในการบ่งบอกถึงการยอมรับผลิตภัณฑ์ของผู้บริโภค

โดยผลิตภัณฑ์ส่วนใหญ่มีพื้นผิวไม่สม่ำเสมอ และมีขนาดที่แตกต่างกัน ทำให้เกิดเป็นข้อจำกัดในการประเมินคุณลักษณะด้านสีด้วยเครื่องวัดสีมาตรฐานทางวิทยาศาสตร์

เนื่องจากเครื่องมือดังกล่าวเป็นเครื่องมือเหมาะสมสำหรับใช้วัดผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีขนาดเล็ก ผิวเรียบ หรือผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีลักษณะเป็นของเหลว

ดังนั้นระบบวิเคราะห์เชิงภาพถ่าย (Computer Vision System ; CVS) จึงเป็นเครื่องมือทางเลือกในการนำมาประยุกต์สำหรับตรวจสอบคุณภาพสีผลิตภัณฑ์ตามลักษณะที่กล่าวมาข้างต้น

โดยงานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อพัฒนาวิธีการตรวจสอบคุณภาพสีสินค้าหลัง Cooker โดยการหาช่วงค่าสีมาตรฐานที่ยอมรับของสินค้า TORIKARAAKE รวมถึงพัฒนาวิธีการแสดงผลการตรวจสอบค่าสีสินค้าด้วยโปรแกรม MATLAB

โดยเก็บข้อมูลหลัง Cooker ทั้งด้านมีหนังและไม่มีหนัง มาทำการประมวลผลและหาช่วงค่าสีมาตรฐานที่ยอมรับของสินค้าทั้งด้านมีหนังและไม่มีหนังพร้อมทั้งยืนยันช่วงค่าสี

จะได้ว่าสินค้าด้านมีหนัง มีค่า L* อยู่ในช่วง 55.00 – 79.00 ค่า a* อยู่ในช่วง 3.00 – 17.00 และ b* อยู่ในช่วง 15.00 – 40.00

ส่วนสินค้าด้านไม่มีหนัง มีค่า L* อยู่ในช่วง 52.00 – 78.00 ค่า a* อยู่ในช่วง 5.00 – 15.00 และ b* อยู่ในช่วง 27.00 – 39.00

สำหรับการแสดงผลการตรวจสอบจะนำช่วงค่าสีมาตรฐานที่ได้ทั้งด้านมีหนังและไม่มีหนังมาเขียนคำสั่งเพื่อแสดงผลการตรวจสอบด้วยโปรแกรม MATLAB

ถ้าผลการตรวจพบว่าสินค้ามีค่าสีอยู่ในช่วงที่กำหนด โปรแกรม MATLAB จะแสดงผลการตรวจสอบเป็น Accept

แต่ถ้าไม่จะแสดงผลการตรวจสอบเป็น Reject
