จากผลการวิจัยหลายๆ แห่งพบว่าบุคคลที่มีภาวะโรคอ้วนในวัยเด็ก มีแนวโน้มที่จะมีภาวะโรคอ้วนเมื่อเติบโตเป็นผู้ใหญ่ด้วย ดังนั้น การให้ความรู้เรื่องสุขภาพแก่เด็กๆ เกี่ยวกับโรคอ้วนตลอดจนการพัฒนาเว็บแอพพลิเคชั่นเพื่อใช้ในการทำนายการเกิดโรคอ้วนของเด็กจากพฤติกรรมเสี่ยงต่างๆ จึงมีความสำคัญ งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้จึงได้ทำการศึกษาข้อมูลของเด็กนักเรียนในโรงเรียนในจังหวัดพิษณุโลก จำนวน 5 แห่ง ได้แก่ โรงเรียนปลักแรด โรงเรียนบ่อวิทยบางระกำ โรงเรียนวัดวังเป็ด โรงเรียนเทศบาล๓(วัดท่ามะปราง) และโรงเรียนอนุบาลโรจนวิทย์ เพื่อใช้ในการพัฒนาแอพพลิเคชั่นสำหรับพยากรณ์การเกิดโรคอ้วนของเด็กประถมจากพฤติกรรมเสี่ยงต่างๆ
