ผู้วิจัยได้เลือกนักศึกษาคณะวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีที่เรียนวิชาฟิสิกส์พื้นฐาน ปีการศึกษา 2556 จำนวน 2 กลุ่ม เป็นตัวอย่างประชาการ โดยสุ่มให้เป็นกลุ่มที่สอนโดยใช้ Interactive Science Simulations 1 กลุ่ม และสอนตามปกติ 1 กลุ่ม การกำหนดกลุ่มตัวอย่างประชาการทั้งสองกลุ่มใช้วิธีสุ่มอย่างง่ายจากนักศึกษาคณะวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีที่เรียนวิชาฟิสิกส์พื้นฐาน ได้นักศึกษาสาขาวิชาเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพเป็นกลุ่มที่ 1 ที่สอนโดยใช้ Interactive Science Simulations และได้นักศึกษาสาขาคณิตศาสตร์สารสนเทศเป็นกลุ่มที่ 2 ที่สอนตามปกติ

การสร้างเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย
เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ประกอบด้วย เอกสารประกอบการสอน และแบบทดสอบวิชาฟิสิกส์พื้นฐาน โดยแบ่งการทดสอบออกเป็นการทดสอบก่อนการทดลอง และหลังการทดลอง

การดำเนินการวิจัย
นำแบบทดสอบก่อนการทดลองวิชาฟิสิกส์พื้นฐานมาทดสอบกับนักศึกษา 2 กลุ่ม ก่อนเริ่มการทดลองหลังจากนั้นผู้วิจัยดำเนินการทดลองโดยดำเนินการสอนตามบันทึการสอน ใช้เวลา 15 สัปดาห์ แบ่งกลุ่มการทดลองออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม กลุ่มที่ 1 สอนโดยใช้ Interactive Science Simulations กลุ่มที่ 2 สอนตามปกติ หลังจากนั้น นำแบบทดสอบหลังการทดลองวิชาฟิสิกส์พื้นฐานมาทดสอบกับนักศึกษา 2 กลุ่ม

การวิเคราะห์ทางสถิติ
ครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงทดลองเพื่อศึกษาและเปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนวิชาฟิสิกส์พื้นฐานของนักศึกษากลุ่มที่สอนโดยใช้ Interactive Science Simulations กับนักศึกษากลุ่มที่สอนตามปกติ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ คำนวณหาค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ค่าร้อยละของมัชฌิมเลขคณิต ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าความแปรปรวน และการทดสอบค่าที(t-test) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบผลการเรียนของนักศึกษา 2 กลุ่ม
