ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ ได้ทำการจับยุงเพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมการเข้าหาคนของยุงเป็นเวลา 2 วันติดต่อกันในแต่ละเดือน ตลอดระยะเวลา 3 เดือน (สิงหาคม-ตุลาคม 2558) และการจับยุงจะใช้คนเป็นเหยื่อล่อจำนวน 4 คน โดยแบ่งจำนวนคนออกเป็น 2 ทีมๆ ละ 2 คน ทีมที่ 1 เป็นทีมจับยุงที่เข้ามาหาคนที่นั่งอยู่ภายในอาคาร ทีมที่ 2 เป็นทีมจับยุงที่เข้ามาหาคนที่นั่งอยู่รอบนอกภายนอกอาคาร โดยทีมที่ 1 นั่งห่างจากทีมที่ 2 ประมาณ 10 เมตร ส่วนในทีมเดียวกันนั่งห่างกันประมาณ 5 เมตร การจับยุงจะจับยุงที่มาเกาะบริเวณขา ตั้งแต่บริเวณข้อเท้าถึงหัวเข่า ส่วนบริเวณอื่นของร่างกายจะปกปิดด้วยเสื้อผ้าและรองเท้าเพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้ยุงกัด
