โรงเรียนสอาดเผดิมวิทยา ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปีพ.ศ.2467 โดยพระยาพิพิธอำพลวิมลภักดี ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดชุมพร เพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์แด่คุณหญิงพิพิธอำพลวิมลภักดี ซึ่งถึงแก่กรรม โดยได้รับพระราชทานนามโรงเรียนว่า โรงเรียนประจำจังหวัดชุมพร “สอาดเผดิมวิทยา” เปิดรับนักเรียนทั้งชาย และหญิง ตั้งแต่ระดับชั้นเตรียมประถมศึกษา ชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนต้นจนถึงชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย โดยมีขุนพูลสมบัติเป็นครูใหญ่คนแรก
