บทคัดย่อ
วิทยาศาสตร์มีประโยชน์ต่อมนุษย์และมีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาประเทศ ผลจากการศึกษาค้นคว้าทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ทำให้ประเทศชาติมีความเจริญก้าวหน้าในด้านต่าง ๆ มากมาย เช่น การแพทย์ การสื่อสารคมนาคม การเกษตร การอุตสาหกรรม และการกีฬา เป็นต้น การพัฒนาให้บุคคลมีความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์จะมีผลโดยตรงต่อการพัฒนาตนเอง ชุมชนและสังคม ช่วยให้มนุษย์มีพัฒนาการและเจริญเติบโตทางด้านร่างกายและจิตใจ การนำเอาความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์ทั้งภาคทฤษฎีและภาคปฏิบัติ ไปประยุกต์ใช้จะทำให้มีประโยชน์ต่อชีวิตประจำวันและเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการสร้างคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี เพื่อให้ทุกคนมีความรู้ มีความเข้าใจที่ถูกต้องเกี่ยวกับความหมายของวิทยาศาสตร์ วิทยาศาสตร์ คือ การศึกษาเกี่ยวกับปรากฏการณ์ธรรมชาติ อย่างเป็นระบบ ด้วยกระบวนการเสาะแสวงหาความรู้ รวมทั้งกระบวนการที่จะได้มาซึ่งองค์ความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์ วิธีการทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ทักษะกระบวนการทางวิทยาศาสตร์ และเจตคติทางวิทยาศาสตร์ หรือจิตวิทยาศาสตร์ วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีช่วยให้คนพัฒนาวิธีคิด ทั้งความคิดที่เป็นเหตุผล ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ เป็นทักษะที่สำคัญในการค้นคว้าหาความรู้ มีความสามารถในการแก้ปัญหาและความสามารถในการตัดสินใจ
จากการศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลการพัฒนาทักษะการใช้อุปกรณ์วิทยาศาสตร์ ของนักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ของโรงเรียนบ้านหนองจอก จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี จำนวน 10 คน ซึ่งได้จัดทำหนังสืออ่านเพิ่มเติมเรื่องการใช้อุปกรณ์วิทยาศาสตร์เพื่อให้นักเรียนเข้าใจหลักการใช้อุปกรณ์ทางวิทยาศาสตร์อย่างถูกวิธี จากการวิจัยผลที่ได้ คือ ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนที่ได้จากการประเมินการทดลอง ก่อนเรียน นักเรียนแต่ละกลุ่มได้คะแนนเฉลี่ย 10 คะแนน และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน เท่ากับ 1.581 ส่วนคะแนนของนักเรียนแต่ละกลุ่มหลังเรียน เฉลี่ยได้คะแนน 18 คะแนน และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน เท่ากับ 0.707
