โครงงานวิทยาศาสตร์ เรื่อง การเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการดูดซับน้ำมันของกระดาษจากธูปฤาษีด้วยไคโตซานและถ่านกัมมันต์ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการดูดซับน้ำมันของกระดาษจากธูปฤๅษีด้วยสาร 2 ชนิดที่ต่างกัน คือ ไคโตซานและถ่านกัมมันต์ ศึกษาคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพของกระดาษดูดซับน้ำมันจากธูปฤๅษีที่ผลิตเองทั้ง 4 สูตร คือ ธูปฤๅษี(ชุดควบคุม) , ธูปฤๅษี + ไคโตซาน , ธูปฤๅษี + ถ่านกัมมันต์ และธูปฤๅษี + ไคโตซาน + ถ่านกัมมันต์ และศึกษาสูตรกระดาษซับน้ำมันที่มีประสิทธิภาพดีที่สุด สามารถใช้งานในครัวเรือนได้จริงและลดปริมาณต้นธูปฤๅษีที่เป็นปัญหากับสิ่งแวดล้อม พบว่า ปริมาณดอกธูปฤๅษีมีผลต่อความสามารถในการดูดซับน้ำมัน คือ ยิ่งมีดอกธูปฤๅษีมากก็จะทำให้กระดาษมีความสามารถในการดูดซับน้ำมันได้ดียิ่งขึ้น เนื่องจากกระดาษดูดซับน้ำมันจากต้นธูปฤๅษีที่ใช้ดอกธูปฤๅษีร้อยละ 40 มีความสามารถในการดูดซับน้ำมันมากที่สุด รองลงมาคือ ร้อยละ 30 และร้อยละ 20 ตามลำดับ และสารที่เหมาะแก่การใช้เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการดูดซับน้ำมันของกระดาษจากธูปฤๅษีมากที่สุด คือ ไคโตซาน เนื่องจากกระดาษดูดซับน้ำมันสูตรธูปฤๅษี + ไคโตซาน มีความสามารถในการดูดซับน้ำมันได้ดีที่สุดจากทั้งหมด 4 สูตร รองลงมา คือ สูตรธูปฤๅษี + ไคโตซาน + ถ่านกัมมันต์ และ ธูปฤๅษี(ชุดควบคุม) มีความสามารถในการดูดซับเท่ากัน และสุดท้าย คือ สูตรธูปฤๅษี + ถ่านกัมมันต์ และถ่านกัมมันต์ไม่เหมาะที่จะนำมาเป็นส่วนผสมเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการดูดซับน้ำมันของกระดาษจากธูปฤๅษี เนื่องจากกระดาษสูตรธูปฤๅษี + ถ่านกัมมันต์ มีประสิทธิภาพในการดูดซับน้ำมันต่ำที่สุด ซึ่งน้อยกว่าสูตรธูปฤๅษี(ชุดควบคุม) ที่ไม่ผสมสารอะไรเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพเลย และจากการทดลองข้างต้นทำให้ได้กระดาษดูดซับน้ำมันจากต้นธูปฤๅษีที่สามารถดูดซับน้ำมันได้จริง และได้สูตรกระดาษดูดซับน้ำมันที่มีประสิทธิภาพดีที่สุด คือ สูตรธูปฤๅษี + ไคโตซาน
