การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลการเรียนรู้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษ ที่ได้รับการสอนโดยใช้การเรียนแบบร่วมมือกันเรียนรู้โดยใช้กิจกรรมการร้องเพลงและการเล่านิทานของนักเรียนชั้นประมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 โรงเรียนบ้านเหล่าภูมีคำธาตุ สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษานครพนมเขต 1 ที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ในภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2558 จำนวน 1 ห้อง มีนักเรียนจำนวน 30 คน การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงทดลอง โดยใช้รูปแบบการวิจัยที่มีกลุ่มทดลองกลุ่มเดียว ดำเนินการทดสอบก่อนและหลังทดสอบ ( One Group Pre-test-Post-test Design )
เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ ประกอบด้วยแผนการเรียนรู้โดยการเรียนแบบร่วมมือกัน โดยใช้สื่อประสม จำนวน 10 แผน แบบทดสอบย่อย และแบบทดสอบวัดผลการเรียนรู้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษ ของนักเรียน โดยใช้การเรียนรู้โดยใช้กิจกรรมการร้องเพลงและการเล่านิทาน
