การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ

1) ศึกษาบทบาทของพระสงฆ์ในการพัฒนาชุมชนในเขต อำเภอจอมบึง จังหวัดราชบุรี ในด้านสังคม เศรษฐกิจ วัฒนธรรม สาธารณสุข และสิ่งแวดล้อม และ 2) เพื่อศึกษาปัญหา อุปสรรค และข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของพระสงฆ์ในการพัฒนาชุมชนในเขตอำเภอจอมบึง จังหวัดราชบุรี

กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ ได้แก่ พระสงฆ์ที่อยู่ในพื้นที่อำเภอจอมบึงจังหวัดราชบุรี จำนวน 301 รูป โดยทำการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเป็นระบบ (Simple Random Sampling)

เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย เป็น แบบสอบถาม (Questionnaire) เพื่อสอบถามบทบาทของพระสงฆ์ในการพัฒนาชุมชน: กรณีศึกษาอำเภอจอมบึง จังหวัดราชบุรี โดยโครงสร้างของแบบสอบถาม แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ตอน คือ

ตอนที่ 1 ข้อมูลสถานภาพทั่วไปของพระสงฆ์
ตอนที่ 2 บทบาทของพระสงฆ์ในการพัฒนาชุมชน แบ่งเป็น 5 ด้าน คือ
ด้านสังคม
เศรษฐกิจ
วัฒนธรรม
สาธารณสุข
และสิ่งแวดล้อม
ตอนที่ 3 ปัญหา อุปสรรค และข้อเสนอแนะ เกี่ยวกับ บทบาทของพระสงฆ์ในการพัฒนาชุมชน ในเขต อำเภอจอมบึง จังหวัดราชบุรี
ซึ่งเป็นแบบสอบถามปลายเปิด (Open Ended Question)
สถิติที่ใช้ คือ ค่าร้อยละ (Percentage) ค่าเฉลี่ย (Mean) และค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (Standard Deviation)

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามส่วนใหญ่
มีอายุ 41-50 ปี คิดเป็นร้อยละ 44.2
มีวุฒิการศึกษานักธรรมเอก คิดเป็นร้อยละ 91.4
มีจำนวนพรรษา 11-20 พรรษา คิดเป็นร้อยละ 71.8
มีสถานภาพเป็นพระลูกวัด คิดเป็นร้อยละ 86.0
และมีระยะเวลาที่จำพรรษาภายในวัดปัจจุบัน 11-15 ปี คิดเป็นร้อยละ 33.9

บทบาทของพระสงฆ์ในการพัฒนาชุมชนทั้ง 5 ด้าน พบว่า โดยภาพรวม อยู่ในระดับมาก (x=4.23)
เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน พบว่า บทบาทของพระสงฆ์ในการพัฒนาชุมชนด้านสังคม อยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด (x=4.85)
ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม อยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด (x =4.53)
ด้านวัฒนธรรม อยู่ในระดับมาก (x =4.46)
ด้านสาธารณสุข อยู่ในระดับมาก (x =3.88)
ส่วนด้านเศรษฐกิจ อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง (x =3.45)
